Ogeechee Behavioral Services in Swainsboro held a Business After Hours event recently and welcomed several guests. Milton Gray, president of Citizens Bank, is being welcomed by Buddy Chambers, addictive diseases coordinator. Looking on are Bill Rogers, president of Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce; and Sonny Stephens, vice president of Spivey State Bank.

    TWIN CITY—Funeral for Geneva Gordon-Clark, 37, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007 at 3:30 p.m. Emanuel County Institute Auditorium with Rev. John Harmon and Rev. Cecil Dunlap officiating. Burial will be in Phillips Cemetery in Lexsy. She died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 in Candler County.

    Scott promoted to chief warrant officer

    Joshua Scott of Twin City was recently promoted to the Army rank of Chief Warrant Officer Officer-3 (CW-3). He is currently assigned to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah as a Blackhawk helicopter pilot. His unit, known as the “Nightstalkers,” provides helicopter aviation support to general purpose forces and Special Operations Forces for the Army.

    Local rock band Dayfall traveled to Panama City, Fla., to compete in the 2007 Battle of Bands at Club La Vela, the largest nightclub in the United States, which was held on Oct. 19-20. After two nights of tough competition, the voting was tabulated with Dayfall rising to the top as grand prize winner.     ECI homecoming slated

    Homecoming schedule at Emanuel County Institute is as follows:

    Thursday, Nov. 1: Parade at 5 p.m.

    Friday, Nov. 2: Pep Rally at Football Field 9- 9:30 a.m.; Senior Salute prior to Portal vs. ECI; “Fifth Quarter” Celebration in ECI Cafeteria honoring Class of 2008 and all ECI alums. Enjoy fun, fellowship, and celebration immediately following the game.
