Georgia Aquarium trip slated October 27

East Georgia College’s Division of Continuing Education will lead a trip to the Georgia Aquarium, the World’s largest aquarium in Atlanta on Saturday, Oct. 27.

The aquarium includes cold water creatures such as whale sharks, beluga whales, sea lions, sea otters, penquins, giant octopus, spider crabs and much more. Flint River Academy remained undefeated in the 2007 season with a 41-8 win over David Emanuel Academy last Friday night in Stillmore. The Wildcats improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the region while the Eagles dropped to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the region.

    SWAINSBORO—Funeralfor Edward Harrison Smith, 69, was held Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Peebles Curry-Durden Mortuary with Rev. Sammy Hall officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Church Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at Heritage Healthcare Center after an extended illness.

    Remington Jackson announces the birth of his sister, Redleigh Sierra Jackson, August 31, 2007 at Fairview Park Hospital. Redleigh weighed 8 lbs. and was 19 1/2 inches long. Remington and Redleigh are the children of Kim and Keith Jackson of Swainsboro. Maternal grandparents are Carolyn Kight of Swainsboro and the late J.T. “Red” Kight. Paternal grandparents are Cecilia and J.L. Jackson of Louisville.
