Emergency drills slated in town

Local school, law enforcement, public safety and state officials are making plans to conduct emergency management crisis drills in Emanuel County schools.

Swainsboro Fire Chief Mike Strobridge, EMS Director Courtney Terwilliger and Von Johnson, School Safety Director, go over plans for emergency management drills for the school system. Representatives from the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Department, Swainsboro Police and Fire Departments, EMS, 911, Twin City, Adrian, Stillmore and Garfield Police Departments, East Georgia College Public Safety, Georgia Emergency Management Agency and Georgia Department of Public Safety will meet August 2 to participate in a table top activity on dealing with emergency situations in our schools

School officials, local law enforcement agencies, public safety officials, GEMA and Georgia Department of Public Safety meet each month during the school year to review and update Emanuel County Schools emergency management plans.
