Lewis family welcomes home baby

Dustin and Carmon Lewis proudly announce the birth of their daughter, Jada Dusti Lewis. She is the granddaughter of Kip and Melissa Farthing, Donnie and Nancy Slater and Dan and Missie Lewis. Great grandparents are Jerry and Carolyn Odom, Steve and Sharon Peebles, Mike and Joy Farthing, Delma and Vivian Fennell and J.W. and Inez Youmans. Jada was welcomed home by her aunts, Carla Gordy and Mary Farthing.

    The Governor’s Task Force (GTF) Marijuana Eradication Team conducted an operation in Emanuel County on Thursday, June 14. The GTF uses helicopters to fly over the rural areas in order to detect marijuana crops growing in wooded land.     Patriotic celebration service slated July 1

    The combined choirs and orchestra of First Baptist and First United Methodist churches of Swainsboro, with several additional singers from the community, will present a musical patriotic celebration on Sunday, July 1 at 6 p.m. The service will be held in the First Baptist sanctuary and will be under the direction of Rev.
