SHS Tiger netters play two

The Tigers hosted Toombs County High on Tuesday, March 20, at East Georgia College. The girls pulled out another big victory by winning one singles and two doubles matches. The three wins were very one-sided.

The boys came away with a loss against the Bulldogs by a score of 2-3. The three losses were very close with Toombs taking the edge. Tigers took one singles match and one doubles match. Results are as follows:

Danielle Farthing lost to Caitlin Cooper 5-7, 6-7

Rachel McNeely lost to Brandy Williams 3-6, 6-7

Erin Garrett/Lacey London def. Almonza/Anthony 6-0, 6- 1

Ty Gillis lost to Johnathan Bennamen 4-6, 7-6, 4-6

Javier Neely def. Benito Gonzolas 6-1, 6-3

Michael Chrysosferidis lost to Chase Arrington 1- 6, 5-7

Drake Oglesby/Tyler Youmans lost to Galbreth/ Morris 5-7, 4-6

Phillip Schwabe/Owen Bailey def. Johnson/Stoval 6-3, 6-2

Macey McIntyre/Brittany Bell def Shiver/William 6-1

Nico Jordan/Shawn Forman def. McCullough/ Morley 6-3

On Thursday, March 22, the Tigers traveled to Southeast Bulloch where the girls took another win to keep their record undefeated. The girls won overall with a score of three wins and the last two matches were not able to be completed due to darkness. The boys came out on the short end with a loss of 2-3. The guys fought hard, but the Yellow Jackets were a little too tough. This week puts the girls’ record to six wins and zero losses. The boys’ record goes to 3 wins and 3 losses. Individual results of the S.E. Bulloch match are as follows:

The Tigers wind up their regular season with Screven at

home on Tuesday, March 27 and at Metter on Thursday, March 29.
