    SWAINSBORO—Funeral for George W. Bell, 74, was held Monday, Feb. 26, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Hawhammock Baptist Church with Rev. Cail Pressey officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. He died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 at University Hospital in Augusta.

    Stillmore Mayor Marilyn Slater and her grandson, Regan Slater, welcomed numerous guests to the dedication of the Stillmore Museum Saturday, Feb. 24. The museum is filled with memorabilia collected from many Stillmore residents. Guests were also treated to a barbecue lunch later that day. Maternal grandparents are Randy and Patsy Lee of Swainsboro. Paternal grandparents are Robert Carter of Canoochee and Peggy Carter of Canoochee.     The boys team at David Emanuel Academy boys basketball team reached the Final Four for the only the second time in school history as they won both the first and second round games at East Georgia College in Swainsboro last week.
