KITE—Funeral for Walter Hugh Nasworthy, 74, was held Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at 11 a.m. in Bethel United Methodist Church near Kite with Rev. Phil Wilson, Rev. R.L. Rathburn, and Rev. Ray Jenkins. Burial was in the church cemetery. He died Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at his residence after a brief illness.
Mr. Nasworthy was a native of Emanuel County and retired from the Emanuel County Road Maintenance Department. He also worked with Wiley Mobile Home Company of Swainsboro, and Badcock Furniture of Swainsboro. Mr. Nasworthy also helped restore Bark Camp Church near Midville. He was preceded in death by his parents George Recy and Sadie
Wilson Nasworthy, his brother Bevis Nasworthy, and two sisters Frances Brinson, and Thelma Edenfield.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Anderson Nasworthy of Kite; a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Bradley Jones of Kite; a son, George Walter Nasworthy of Kite; two brothers and sisters-inlaw, Paul and Helen Nasworthy of Pembroke; and Gleen and Glenda Nasworthy of Lyons; a grandson, Ayrron Jones of Kite; several nieces and nephews:
Pallbearers were Kenneth Lawson, Billy Flanders, Jerry Fagler, Billy Carmichael, Jim Curry, and Russell Moore.
Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary had charge of arrangements.
