Runoff slated Dec. 5

Secretary of State Cathy Cox reminded Georgia voters that a statewide runoff will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 5, in the race for Public Service Commissioner, District 3. In addition to the statewide contest that will appear on all ballots throughout Georgia, there will also be four Superior Court runoff races on the ballot in selected regions of the state: the Augusta, Clayton, Flint and Macon judicial circuits. Under Georgia law, all voters who were eligible to vote in the General Election on Nov. 7, whether or not they cast a ballot in that election, may participate in the upcoming runoff Dec. 5.

Secretary Cox also noted

that advance voting for the December 5 General Election Runoff ends at close of business this Friday, Dec. 1. Advance voting permits eligible voters to cast their vote early, in person, at their county registration office, simply as a matter of convenience.

Georgia’s advance voting period allows voters to visit their county voter registration office during business hours the week before the election. It is important to note that NO advance/in-person absentee voting will be permitted on the day before the election, Monday, Dec. 4.

All Emanuel County precincts will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
