Magnolias, moonlight, and music created the perfect ambiance to honor Kimberly Robinson and Justen Woods with an enchanting backyard garden party at the gracious southern home of Bobby and Daisy Reeves on June 3. Upon arrival, the engaged couple was presented with a matching corsage and boutonnire fashioned from fragrant gardenias and colorful ribbon. Guests entered from the winding front walkway to the side garden patio where they were welcomed to the festive gathering. The brick patio featured a round table beautifully decorated with a white tablecloth and green chiffon overlay. It held three cobalt blue candlesticks with floating candles; magnolia leaves decorated the bases. The couple’s framed engagement announcement, a framed invitation to the party, and a personalized Bride and Groom plate were also featured on the table.

Over 200 tea lights adorned the porch, gazebo, trees and shrubbery while the fragrant aroma of gardenias permeated the backyard. Tiki torches, also decorated with magnolias,

were used extensively in the upper garden area and the lower terraced day lily gardens. Arrangements of white yarrow and magnolia leaves adorned the steps of the back porch, the patio, and the lower terrace. Multiple bird baths throughout the gardens held floating magnolia blossoms. A focal point of the backyard was the camellia garden, featuring a cozy porch swing and a 3-tiered fountain with a gorgeous assortment of floating camellia blossoms. It also showcased a beautiful candelabra decorated with tall white tapers and white yarrow. The outdoor bar held an animated and lighted pink flamingo. Nearby, the playhouse was also festively decorated with a table and floral arrangement. Of special interest was the antique footed bathtub which held white floating candles.

Various round food tables were positioned on the upper and lower terraces of the backyard. Each was adorned with white cloths and yellow dotted swiss overlays. Sitting on a blanket of magnolia leaves, jumbo crystal martini glasses served as

centerpieces and held white pillar candles surrounded by floating blue hydrangeas. Assorted collectible birds, perched at the base of each glass, complemented the design. The beverage table featured an exquisite handblown blue glass punch bowl and a spouted lemonade crock. Other tables offered a variety of delicious appetizers including a chocolate fondue fountain with fresh fruit, marinated shrimp, fried wontons, meatballs, BLT tomato appetizers, hot spinach and artichoke dip, various meats and rolls for sandwiches, and assorted desserts including cheesecake, million dollar bars, and fudge bars.

Over 80 guests attended the celebration for Kimberly and Justen and shared a fun-filled evening socializing as they listened, danced, and sang to music provided by the local band, Sam’s Drive-In. Later in the evening, Bobby Reeves and Charles Schwabe provided a special toast for the betrothed couple as they begin their new life together and they welcomed Kimberly into the huge Swainsboro “family.” The couple was also presented a beautiful pewter tray from the hosts and hostesses. Special guests of the bride-elect were her parents, David and Carolyn Robinson from Braselton, and close friends, Van and Alice Gray from Roswell. Special guests of the groomelect were his parents, Ray and Norma Woods, his brothers, Chandler and Elliott Woods, and his cousins, Lawson and E. Kay Lewis of Camden, S.C. Hosting the memorable evening were Bobby and Daisy Reeves, Denny and Peggy Key, Jimmy and Harriett Ray, Charles and Jean Schwabe, Jody and Andrea Lamb, Don and Stephanie Flanders, Danny and Kathy Palmer, William and Carol Donaldson, Sonny and Kaye Stephens, and H.G. and Carol Yeomans. Justen and Kimberly presented gifts of appreciation to their hosts and hostesses from Chateau Elan winery
