Gary Lee Mimbs Sr., 52

DUBLIN—Funeral services for Mr. Gary Lee Mimbs, Sr., 52, were held Friday, June 23, 2006 at 3 p.m. at the Dudley Baptist Church with Rev. Christy Bandy and Brian Puckett officiating. Burial was in Foskey Cemetery. He died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 after an extended illness.

Born in Emanuel County, Mr. Mimbs has made his home in Laurens County for the past 29 years having come from Johnson County. He was a foreman and heavy equipment operator for the W.F. Jackson Construction Company and was a member of Dudley Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Wrightsville-Dublin Georgia Bulldog Club. He was preceded in death by his father, the late Leroy Mimbs. Survivors include his

wife, JoAnn Mimbs of Dublin, his mother, Thelma Foskey Mimbs of Wrightsville, three sons, Gary Lee Mimbs, Jr., of Atlanta, Jonathon Payton Mimbs of Bishop, and Brian Christopher Mimbs of Athens; two brothers, Nolan Mimbs and Mickey Mimbs both of Wrightsville; and a sister, Gwen Lee of Kite.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Foskey, Eston Thigpen, Stevie Clements, Stanley Clements, Billy Parker and Ollie Parker. Honorary escorts will include Bill Jackson, Freddie Carr, Jerry Williamson, Tommy Morris, Dee Cullen, Don Lewis, Billy Mallory, Frank Youngblood, Butch Hampton, Ronnie Carter, Donnie Carter and Ricky Wynn.
