Eloise Collier, 65

SWAINSBORO-Funeral services for Eloise Collier, 65, were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2006, at St. James Baptist Church with Rev. Stanley Moore presiding and Pastor Bennie Brinson officiating. Burial was held at Swainsboro City Cemetery. She died June 16, 2006.

Ms. Collier was born November 15, 1940 in Emanuel County to the late Charlie King and Fannie Mae Durham. She attended elementary and high school in Swainsboro, Ga. She moved to Philadelphia, Pa. in 1957 and returned home in 1977. She was married to the late Bobby Davis. Eloise worked at East Georgia College until her retirement.

Survivors include one son, John A. (Peggy) Collier

of Moscow, Tn.; two sisters, Arletha (Frank) Costner and Barbara Preston, both of Philadelphia; four brothers, Tommy (Janice) Durham, Joseph (Rita) Durham, Nathaniel Durham, and Ronald Durham, all of Philadelphia, Pa; one living aunt, Daisy Wright of Nunez, Ga.; two grandchildren, dedicated cousins, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. One brother, Ely Durham, precedes her in death.

Pallbearers were Tommy Durham, Joseph Durham, Ronald Durham, Kenneth Wright, Tony Wright, and John Arthur Collier.

Mosley’s Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
