ADRIAN—Funeral for Horace Lee Brannen, 78, was held Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Peebles-CurryDurden Mortuary with Rev. Clarence Thompson officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery in Kemp. He died Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at the Johnson County Nursing Home in Scott after an extended illness.
Mr. Brannen was a native of Bulloch County, a retired paint contractor, and a WWII US Army veteran. He was a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Thompson Brannen of Adrian; two
stepdaughters, Sarah Jean French of Tennille; and Samantha Lyles of Adrian; one son, Lehman Brannen of Savannah; three stepsons, Randy Pounds and Ronnie Pounds both of Adrian; and Ricky Pounds of Dublin; three sisters, Ollie Mae Zipperer of Guyton; Ann Spivey of Brooklet; and Jean Perry of Gainesville, Texas; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Stephen Green, Brett Brannen, Kenneth J. Braswell, Rockey Pounds, Rodney Pounds, and Chris Way.
Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary had charge of arrangements.
