Farm Bureau members named to advisory committees

Emanuel County Farm Bureau members Clay Clark of Garfield and Joe Williams of Kite were recently appointed to serve on-year terms on Georgia Farm Bureau Commodity Advisory Committees. As member of their respective committees, Clark and Williams will provide farmer input into Georgia Farm Bureau’s policy development process.

Joseph Sparks tossed in 17 points to lead the David Emanuel Academy Eagles to a 51-45 overtime win over visiting Thomas Jefferson Academy last Tuesday in Stillmore. The win improved the Eagles to 2-2 in the region and 7-6 overall.

    Swainsboro High School’s Fine Arts Department will be producing the Broadway musical, “Grease” on Tuesday, March 28, and Thursday, March 30. This production is being funded by the Mill Creek Foundation.

    Assisting Aldridge with this production are Dabney Edenfield, SHS art instructor; Miriam Edenfield, SHS counselor; and Talmadge Smith Jr., chorus director.

    Swainsboro Assistant Fire Chief Pepper Fields has announced that the Swainsboro Unit of the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation will present their seventh annual Burn Foundation Pageants March 24–25. The pageants will be held at the Swainsboro/Emanuel County Auditorium at 7 p.m.

    Applications may be picked up at the Swainsboro Fire Department, 115 East Moring Street, Swainsboro. The closing date to submit applications is Saturday, March 11.

    SWAINSBORO—Funeral for Kamika Lachia Shivers, 27, was held Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor George Lee presiding. She died Saturday, Jan, 7, 2006.
