    Air Force Airman Carlos M. Renfroe has graduated fro basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During six weeks of training, the airman studied Air Force mission, organization and customs and received special training in human relations. The son of Frederick and Rosa Renfroe of Swainsboro, he is a 1997 graduate of Swainsboro High School.

    Cub Scout Pack 205 enjoys camp-out

    The Cub Scouts camped out at the George L. Smith State Park primitive camping areas. They were taught how to build a fire, compass reading, first aid, archery, BB shooting and about poisonous snakes. They went on a hike along the pond where they identified types of trees and animal tracks.

    Emanuel County Sheriff’s deputies reported numerous domestic incidents and other cases. Cases logged are:

    Nov. 21

    A Canady Lane, Canoochee man reported his grandson took three checks from him and cashed them without his permission.

    Nov. 22

    A Flanders Rd., Kite man reported the tag on his trailer is missing.

    Library Story Hour held

    Hundreds of children were entertained last week by Franklin Memorial Library staff. Special entertainment was provided by Tommy Turkey (Jonathan Smith), Ms. Pilgrim (Judy Palmer) and Pocahantas (Lucy Frost Moore). They were assisted by Ann Buxton and Jack Atkinson. Other staffers assisting were Ginger Bolton, Barb Moore and Irene Gross.
