Sheriff’s Report: Counterfeit checks reported

Emanuel County Sheriff’s deputies reported reports of counterfeit checks and other cases. Reports are:

Sept. 16

Employee at KT’s Place reported two males cashed counterfeit checks in the amounts of $426 and $423.

Deputy reported being in pursuit of a stolen car from Columbus. Deputy lost the car after backing off from pursuit due to the dangerous way in which the suspect was driving.

Employee at Money Saver in Twin City reported two males submitted two counterfeit checks.

Sept. 17

A U.S. 1 S. man reported someone tried to get in his house by kicking the door down.

A Hwy. 80 W. man reported someone kicked his door down and stole his muscle relaxer pills.

A Halls Bridge Rd., Swainsboro woman reported her son took her new DVD player.

Sept. 18

A Buckeye Rd., Twin City man reported a woman, who was identified, struck him on his face several times.

Timothy LaShawn Worthen, 23, 26 Red Oak Rd., Swainsboro was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent and possession of cocaine with intent.

Five residents on Hendley Proctor Rd., Twin City reported someone damaged their mailboxes.

A Fairground Rd. man reported an unknown man was trespassing in his yard.

Aman driving on Hwy. 80 E. reported hitting a deer.

A Bream Lane, Swainsboro man reported someone stole his cell phone while he was in Dublin.

Sept. 19

Employee at Food Chief in Adrian reported someone broke the front door glass.

An Old McLeod Bridge Rd. man reported a man, whom he identified, ran over his mailbox.

A Nunez-Lexsy Rd. man reported a road grader damaged his wildlife plot.

Robert Cuyler, 20, 411 McLeod Bridge Rd., Swainsboro was arrested for driving without a license, damage to private property.

A McLeod Bridge Rd. woman reported a man, whom she identified, stole $1,000 from her purse.

A Bird Flanders Rd. woman reported someone has stolen several items from her outbuildings.

Sept. 20

Deputy was dispatched to a house fire on Sunfish Lane, Lyons.

Officer was called to Perry’s Auto Auction about an impounded vehicle.

Officer assisted Garfield Police with a warrant on a suspect from Jenkins County.

Drug Task Force agents and deputies recovered a stolen vehicle.

Employee at Shepard’s Auto Repair reported a man, who was identified, did not pay for the repairs made on his car.

A Sutton Dr., Swainsboro woman reported someone stole her checkbooks.

A Buckeye Rd., Oak Park woman reported someone stole 150 of her collectible quarters.

A Plantation Sr., Swainsboro woman reported someone forced open her kitchen door and stole $12,000 in jewelry.

A Modoc Lane woman reported a man, whom she identified, pushed and choked her.

Sept. 22

An Oak Grove Church Rd. woman reported a man, whom she identified, argued with her about his father’s will and tried to remove several items from the house.

A Hwy. 23 S., Twin City woman reported a man, whom she identified, entered her house without permission and attempted to solicit women for prostitution.

Sept. 23

A woman driving on Hwy. 1 N. reported hitting a deer.

A Douglas man reported he lost his cell phone on Brinson Cemetery Rd.

A Leman Rd., Oak Park man reported someone stole his truck.

A Scuffletown Rd., Garfield woman reported a man, whom she identified, was trying to get in her house through her bedroom window. Victim said suspect was not supposed to be within 50 feet of her house.

In the Police Report last week, it was stated under the Sept. 14 date that the “owner of Shepard’s Auto reported one of his employees assaulted him.” The report should have read, “Owner of Shepard’s Auto reported one of his workers verbally assaulted him about a transmission. Victim stated that he didn’t hit him, that he pushed him out of his face and fired him.” Clarification
