Emanuel County Board of Health held its regularly scheduled board meeting on Sept. 14.

    East Georgia College’s wrestling team recently received its new NCAAregulation mat. It is 42 by 42 feet in size, forest green in color with gold lines, and has the EGC logo in white, green, and gold in the center.     Sheriff’s Report: Counterfeit checks reported

    Emanuel County Sheriff’s deputies reported reports of counterfeit checks and other cases. Reports are:

    Sept. 16

    Employee at KT’s Place reported two males cashed counterfeit checks in the amounts of $426 and $423.

    Deputy reported being in pursuit of a stolen car from Columbus. Deputy lost the car after backing off from pursuit due to the dangerous way in which the suspect was driving.

    Local residents honored at Red Cross luncheon

    Some people are reluctant heroes. Others, like the 38 Swainsboro residents who were the toast of a luncheon recently hosted by American Red Cross Blood Services, actively seek opportunities to help save the lives of their neighbors.

    SOPERTON—Funeral for Dr. William Palmer McNair Sr., 77, was held Monday, Sept. 26, 2005 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Sammons Funeral Home in Soperton with Rev. Paul Brown officiating. Burial was in Westview Cemetery in Soperton. He died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005 at his home.
