Emanuel County Chief Deputy Joel Beecher recently attended the Georgia Sheriff’s Association specialized training for law enforcement officers on Lake Lanier. He was among 130 officers that participated in the conference, which emphasized highway safety initiatives and included training on issues relevant to the responsibilities of Georgia’s Office of Sheriff.
The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety provided technical assistance, support and funding to ensure that all officers were given the opportunity to attend the specialized training. The Georgia Sheriff’s Association is a professional organization that represents Georgia’s 159 elected sheriffs.
