Flowers named USAA winner

Jared Flowers of Swainsboro has been named a United States National Award winner in science by United States Achievement Academy.

Flowers, who attends Metter High School, was nominated for the award by Karen Chassereau, a teacher at the school. His biography will appear in United States Achievement Academy Official Yearbook, which is published nationally.

The Academy selects USAA winners upon recommendation of teachers, coaches, counselors, and other qualified sponsors and upon standards of selection set forth by the Academy. Criteria for selection are a student’s academic performance, interest and aptitude, leadership qualities, responsibility, enthusiasm, motivation to learn and improve, citizenship, attitude and cooperative spirit, dependability.

Flowers is the son of Bruce and Gail Flowers of Swainsboro. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth McCoy of Hephzibah and the late Daniel and Ouida Flowers.
