Beginning April 5 individuals needing emergency treatment will be directed to the temporarily moved Emergency Department located on the west side of the facility. The relocation of this department is necessary due to the expansion of Emanuel Medical Center.
“We’ve done our best to reduce any inconvenience to deliver patient care during our expansion and this temporary move,” said Brad Blackmon, assistant administrator.

will serve as the temporary Emergency Department. This move will enable the construction to begin renovations in the Emergency Department without having patients in the area. This action will also speed up the renovation process without disrupting patient care. Renovation of the Emergency Department is estimated to take two months.
Once the Emergency Department has moved back to its permanent location, ICU will relocate to its new area. Then final construction will begin to complete the addition of two new operating suites, endoscopic room and new recovery rooms.
Anticipated completion of the project is late September.
