Victory Temple celebrates seventh church anniversary

Victory Temple is celebrating its seventh church anniversary through April 1 at 7:30 p.m. and April 3 at 11:30 a.m. Schedule of guest

pastors is as follows:

Wednesday: Prophet Melvin Bynes.

Thursday: Elder Alex Worthen.

Friday: Minister Emma Hill.

Sunday: Pastor James Middleton.

Chris Peebles is pastor of Victory Temple.

    With rain and storms all around, race fans and drivers packed Swainsboro Raceway Saturday night for an evening packed with racing action. Getting the show on the road was the Road Warrior division. Last week’s winner Brad Corley came back for more action this week.     Cathy and Perry Williams of Swainsboro announce the birth of their daughter, Tytionna Perrylezza Williams, March 17 at Emanuel Medical Center in Swainsboro. Maternal grandparents are Catherine Williams of Swainsboro and the late George Williams. Paternal grandparent is Alvonia Price of Bartow. Great-grandparents include Inez and Jack Wilcher of Swains-boro and Ms. Dessie Williams of Bartow. Tytionna was welcomed home by her siblings, Roosevelt, Ramon, Camilla and Perry Jr.

    The lovely home of Mrs. Cheri McLeod was the setting for a Pampered Chef shower March 15 honoring Christi Dawkins, bride-elect of Tyler Womack. Hosting the event were Mrs. Lacey Bishop, Mrs. Alicia Breedlove, Mrs. Jana Lee, Mrs. Teresa Mason, Mrs. McLeod and Mrs. Cindy Murry.

    Flowers named USAA winner

    Jared Flowers of Swainsboro has been named a United States National Award winner in science by United States Achievement Academy.

    Flowers, who attends Metter High School, was nominated for the award by Karen Chassereau, a teacher at the school. His biography will appear in United States Achievement Academy Official Yearbook, which is published nationally.

    Tyler Williams, junior golfer at David Emanuel Academy, fired a one over par 73 to capture low medalist honors at the Trinity Christian School Invitational Tournament in Dublin last week.

    “This is a great accomplishment for Tyler,” said DEA Golf Coach Glenn Cardell. “There were 18 teams and over 90 players competing in this tournament”.

    EGC offers AARP driver safety class

    East Georgia College will offer the American Association of Retired Persons’ “55 and Alive Driver Safety Class” on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 19 and 20 from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Richard L.
