TC Lions Club to hold pancake supper

Twin City Lions Club members will hold a pancake supper Thursday, March 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Twin City Lions Club building. Adult plates are $4 each; plates for children under 8 are $2 each. Proceeds from the supper will help support community projects. Tickets may be purchased at the door or from club members.

  • Whipple sentenced in Superior Court

    Randy Jerome Whipple was sentenced in Emanuel County Superior Court Friday, Feb. 18 by Judge Kathy S. Palmer, Middle Judicial Circuit.

    Whipple negotiated a plea of guilty on one count of possession of cocaine. He was sentenced to five years in the state penal system to serve concurrently with all other sentences presently serving.

    UGA cracks global top 20 in agricultural sciences

    Over the past decade, the University of Georgia has been among the world’s 20 most cited institutions in agricultural sciences, according to “In-Cites,” a Web site that keeps tabs on the research that most catches the eye of scientists worldwide.

    Holy Zion Holiness Church in Twin City will host a Black History program Saturday, Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Minister Dwanna Hughes. Pastor is M. Owens. Guest churches will be Holy Zion of Metter, Union Chapel of Garfield, Cooper Baptist and Rountree Chapel.
