Sing Powell Tomlinson, 74

SWAINSBORO—Funeral for Sing Powell Tomlinson, 74, was held Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Tom M .Wages Funeral Home, Snellville Chapel, with Dr. Russell G. Shinpoch and Dr. Howard Ramsey officiating. Graveside services were Sunday, Nov.14, 2004 at 3 p.m. in the Swainsboro City Cemetery with Dr. Bob Blankenship officiating. He died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2004, at the Gwinnett Medical Center after an extended illness.

Mrs. Tomlinson was a native of Emanuel County, valedictorian of Swainsboro High School, attended Brenau College and graduated from the University of Georgia. She was a homemaker, member of the Snellville First Baptist Church and the Swainsboro First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Emanuel Arts Council, Children of the American Revolution, Emanuel County Historical Society and the Ida Belle Williams Book Club. She was daughter of the late Wylie L. and Lou Price Powell.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest Poole Tomlinson, Jr. of Swainsboro; two sons, Charles Steven Tomlinson of Lawrenceville; and Paul James Tomlinson of Charlotte, N.C.; and six grandchildren.

Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary had charge of arrangements.
