Students from Swainsboro High School’s Visual Art Department attended the Georgia National Fair, October 8-17, 2004 whose theme this year was, “ Discover Georgia at the Fair!” According to the Georgia National Newsletter and the CFE, executive director Michael A. Froelich, “the Georgia National Fair offers unique opportunities for everyone, for the general public, the Fair is the place for education and entertainment. For competitors, the Fair is the place to display a quilt and artwork.” Swainsboro High School’s art students’ participation in this popular event gives acknowledgement and encouragement to the young people who worked so hard to present their works.

Those students honored from Swainsboro High School were:

Trey Cox- 1st place- Computer Altered Imagery

Eric Odom- 2nd place- 2 Dimensional Mosaic

Nikki Hadden- 3rd place- 2 Dimensional Mosaic

Kirbi Braswell- 4th place- 2- Dimensional Mosaic

Crue Conley- Honorable Mention Graphite Pencil Drawing

Brandi Horton- 2nd place- 2 Dimensional Mosaic

Tristan Leaptrott- 4th place- Water Color Painting

Mrs. Dabney Edenfield, visual art instructor, at SHS is very proud of her students and encourages each and every one to always strive to their best. Assisting the students who produced the 2 Dimensional Mosaic projects, was Mrs. Gwen Davis, the visual art student teacher, from Georgia Southern University.
