Sheriff’s Report: Reports of burglaries

Emanuel County Sheriff’s deputies reported several burglaries for the week. Other cases are:

Nov. 9

A Modoc Rd., Swainsboro, man reported unknown persons forced his back door open and damaged his window.

Nov. 12

A W. Moring St., Swainsboro, man reported someone stole his vehicle. Vehicle was found on Hwy. 57 E., off the roadway.

A Canoochee Rd., Swainsboro, woman reported her house had been burglarized. Stolen were a handgun and a laptop computer. Case file was opened.

A Buckeye Rd., Oak Park, woman reported the dog of a neighbor, whom she identified, tried to kill some of her rabbits.

Nov. 13

Jeffrey Dee Adams a.k.a. Jeffrey Dee Tapley, 38, 145 Kent St., Lyons, was arrested for possession of cocaine.

A S. E. Railroad, Oak Park, woman reported a man, whom she identified, and his girlfriend, along with several other people, moved into her home while she was away having a baby. She said her items have been moved and her jewelry, which was worth $4,000, was stolen.

Nov. 14

A Rt. 1, Soperton, male youth reported his friend started fighting with him over an X-Box game.

Nov. 15

A Norwood Rd. man reported he allowed a man, whom he identified and is now deceased, to keep his guns. However, victim reported the guns have not been returned.

A Metter man reported he lost his vehicle tag.

Nov. 16

Kenneth Hopkins, 46, 305 Pughsley St., Swainsboro, was arrested for simple battery/family violence.

A woman driving on Hwy. 80 W. reported hitting a deer.

A Woodpecker Trail, Twin City, woman reported she dropped some of her methadone in a puddle of water.

A S. Main St. man reported he lost his cell phone.

A man at Dixie Livestock reported an unsecured gate struck his vehicle and damaged it.

Nov. 17

An Old Wadley Rd. woman reported someone using her identity withdrew $100 from her bank account.

A Kemp Rd. man reported he lost his cell phone while hunting.

A W. Main St., Swainsboro, man reported someone destroyed his sign in the front yard.

An Overstreet Rd., Swainsboro, reported someone broke into his home and stole a pair of Reebok shoes.

A man on Mt. Shady Church Rd. reported someone entered his home and stole several items worth $524.

Officer responded to a report of break-in/vandalism at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church.

Nov. 18

A Lyons man who was hunting on Long Rd. reported he was trying to cut a limb while he was in a deer stand when the stand fell. Victim was transported to the hospital.

A Quail Ridge Apt. woman reported someone entered her residence and stole her medication.

Christopher Anthony Stanford, 24, 127 David Rd., Twin City, was arrested for obstruction of an officer and theft by receiving stolen property.

Nov. 20

Bobby Lee Moore, 37, 613 West St., Vidalia, was arrested for disorderly conduct.
