Rodney Dale Goggans Sr., 51

SWAINSBORO—Funeral for Rodney Dale Goggans, Sr., 51, was held Saturday, Nov. 13 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary with Elder Tommy Rountree officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Dellwood. He died Thursday, Nov. 11 at the Emanuel Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mr. Goggans was a native of Ft. Payne, Ala., worked with Watkins BP and had worked with Penske Truck Leasing Co. for 22 years. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Nina Williams Goggans of Swainsboro; one daughter, Heather Goggans of Swainsboro; two sons, Derrick and Brian Goggans of Swainsboro; and four grandchildren, Bridget Goggans, Amber Goggans, Mackenzie Goggans and Aerial Goggans of Swainsboro.

Pallbearers were Tony Watkins, Glen Watkins, Wendell Walden, Dana Farthing, Danny Scarboro, John Vescuso, Johnny Fields and Lawrence Hairr.

Honorary pallbearers were Danny Kirkland, Carl Schoen, Randy Franklin, Roy Lin Stroud, Ronny Sweat, Al Davis, Donny Wayne Fields, Matt Edwards and Steven Edwards.

Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
