Mattie Fields Ford, 86

CROSS-GREEN—Funeral for Mattie Fields Ford, 86, was held Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in the Cross-Green Community with Rev. Robert L. Stephens officiating. She died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004.

Mrs. Ford was born on Feb. 10, 1918 to the late Jude Fields and Emma Jenkins. She was a member of Brinson Rock Baptist Church, a homemaker and devoted mother. She enjoyed singing, cooking and cleaning.

Survivors include five sons, Miller Ford Jr. and Roger Ford of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Albert Ford, Eddie Ford and Willie Ford of Midville; three daughters, Martha Davis of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Alice Daniels and Linder Bell of Midville; three brothers, Eddie McGruder of Tampa, Fla.; Bobby McGruder of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and Gene McGruder of Philadelphia, Penn.; two sisters, Mattie Mae Ramey and Lizzie Fields Mimms of Washington, D.C.; 39 grandchildren and 83 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Brinson Rock Baptist Church.

Jogresan Mortuary Inc. of Wadley had charge of arrangements.
