Martha L. Tomlinson

FORT VALLEY—Graveside service for Martha L. Tomlinson was held Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery with Rev. Jim Hamlin and Rev. Dennis Stavley officiating. She died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004 at Anderson Area Memorial Medical Center in Anderson, S.C.

Mrs. Tomlinson was born in Macon County and had lived in Fort Valley for many years. She graduated from Marshallville High School and had attended Georgia Southwestern College in Americus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor H. Tomlinson. She taught school in the Fort Valley School System and had worked as a bookkeeper for Kell Florist for many years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Valley.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. William V. Tomlinson (Nancy) of Anderson, S.C.; and Ken Tomlinson of Swainsboro; six grandchildren, Richard, Claire, Steven and William Tomlinson of Anderson, S.C.; and Lindsay and Amy Tomlinson of Swainsboro; a brother, Norris McKenzie of Fort Valley; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the David Emanuel Academy Memorial Fund, 667 South Main Street, Swainsboro.

Tomlinson Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
