Georgia Office of Homeland Security (OHS) and Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) has reimbursed Emanuel Emergency Medical Services $59,922 for the purchase of a cargo trailer, generator, personal protective gear and other equipment necessary for responding to incidents involving chemical, biological or explosives.

“It is critical that emergency personnel have the proper tools and equipment available when they respond to an accident,” said GEMA director Mike Sherberger. “This equipment enhances Emanuel County’s efforts to provide immediate response and care while also helping build capacity for homeland security response efforts throughout East Georgia.”

The funding administered by GEMA, is part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Domestic Preparedness (ODP) grant program.
