Ernestine Mathews, 82

WADLEY—Graveside service for Ernestine Mathews, 82, was held Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004 at Wadley Cemetery with Rev. Ray Garren and Rev. Charles Wallace officiating. She died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004 at Glendale Nursing Home in Wadley.

Mrs. Mathews was born in Cameron, S.C. but had lived in Wadley for the past 54 years. She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include three sons, John D. Mathews Jr. of Wadley; Joe W. Mathews and Charles E. Mathews of Swainsboro; a daughter, Evey M. Belcher of Bartow; three brothers, John Mitchum, Sammie Mitchum and Kenneth Mitchum of South Carolina; four sisters, Dorthy Mae Huger, Effie Storie, Katherine Sinn and Eva Claire Mitchum of South Carolina; two grandchildren; and a longtime companion, Archie Hall of Wadley.

Smith Funeral Home of Wadley had charge of arrangements.
