DEA gets early look at basketball teams

David Emanuel Academy fans will get an early look at the 2004-05 basketball teams this Thursday when DEA plays the Red-White scrimmage game at the school gymnasium. The girls contest will tip off at 6:30 followed by the boys contest. Admission to the games is free.

The girls White team will be coached by head coach Brian Daughtry. Playing on the White team will be Leah Lanier, Amanda Cardell, Macy Fagler, Whitney Williams, Natalie Olliff, Bonnie McNeely, Chatonna Powell, Casey Claxton, Allison Coleman, Amy Tomlinson, Erin Wood, and Meredith Russell. Assistant coach Andy Callaway’s Red team members will be Casey Johnson, Sara Cuillierrier, Emily Redding, Haley Johnson, Kayla Cody, Marlee Lanier, Lindsay Tomlinson, Blythe Morgan, Sarah Morris, Megan Johnson and Erin Flynt.

Boys head coach Walker McLendon will coach the boys White team which will include Adam Callaway, Joseph Sparks Michael Thigpen, Spencer Lanier, Carl Glover, Brandon Blount, Joseph Nasworthy, Jason Cochran, Justin Smith, and Michael Wedingcamp. The Red team members, coached by Andy Callaway, are Kyle Hadden, Matt Mathis, Jamie Watson, Casey Clark, Frank Wimberly, Greg Glover, Corey McNeely, James Ward, Jansen Clark and Ace Clark.

The games will serve as a final tune-up for the upcoming season. DEA will open the regular season on Monday November 22 when the Eagles and Lady Eagles travel to Sparta to face John Hancock Academy.
